Belle (Bom) Kim is a Korean cartoonist and illustrator based in Seattle, Washington. She has a PhD in English literature from University of Washington. Her comics attempt to engage with the hidden potentialities of the everyday and mundane, while also reminding us that writing is always a deeply political act. Her nature-inspired illustrations seek to tap into our capacity for joy and offer a different way of orienting ourselves to the world in which we live–-one that is not exploitative or extractive but rather, harmonious, vibrant, and beautifully interdependent.

Her comics have appeared in Electric Literature, Saranac Review, Timber Journal, and elsewhere, and her artwork has been exhibited in juried art galleries in the Pacific Northwest.
