Belle (Bom) Kim is a Korean cartoonist, painter, and illustrator based in Seattle, Washington. She has a PhD in English literature from University of Washington. Her comics attempt to engage with the hidden potentialities of the everyday and mundane, while also reminding us that writing is always a deeply political act. Her comics have appeared in Electric Literature, Saranac Review, Timber Journal, and elsewhere.

Her nature-inspired paintings and illustrations draw from the resilience, strength, and fierce beauty of the diverse ecosystems that shape our world. Her artwork seeks to tap into our capacity for joy and offer a different way of orienting ourselves to the world in which we live–-one that is not exploitative or extractive but rather, harmonious, vibrant, and wholly interdependent. She has been exhibited in art galleries in the Pacific Northwest.
